Many congratulations for sisters Tessa and Caitlin Mclaughlin who entered their Genetic Conservation Garden into this years RHS Malvern Spring Show and won the silver medal. The truly inspiring design of the garden represented and focused on the conservation of UK crop wild relatives including wild carrot, strawberry and Meadow Vetchling. The sisters demonstrated in a highly creative and public-friendly way the importance of science in gardens and the valuable genetic diversity that crop wild relatives contain. The plants which were grown in partnership with the Natural History Museums Wildlife Garden will be returned to Museums grounds where they will be on show to visitors through an established plot detailing their scientific importance.
